I didn’t know what to expect going into this one. I had never heard of the author or the publisher, but I gave this book a chance. CRUCE ROOSTERS is a lot of things. I would like to start out by saying that this entire book should have one huge trigger warning. I’ve never read anything like this, and I’ve read some things in my life. I don’t normally read dystopian sci-fi, but the cover intrigued me.
Cruce is a stadium sport where people battle at mental, physical, and spiritual levels. There is bombs, corpses, and gladiators. I couldn’t picture Cruce, though. Everything is over the top in the best ways.
Ladies and gentlemen, your attention please! Let me introduce tonight’s guest of honor, none other than the big guy himself… the big poppa, the never-gonna-stoppa, the cream that rose to the toppa… give it up for YOUR! PROFIT! KING!
Molly Most is the Crucecaster from G–1 and the Profit King has his eyes set on her. He won’t take no for an answer. CRUCE ROOSTERS is over the top satire. The Profit King reminds me of Trump. The atmosphere isn’t all that different to the present either.
There are vulgarity and obscene things in this book. Violence and brutality are in these pages. Even though this book isn’t described as horror, it should be. The characters are solid. The storyline is smooth. The dialogue is one of the best parts.
4/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
