Andrew Cull delivers a scare for the ages! He brings your childhood fears to life in this short read. I’ve been meaning to get around to this novella for a little while now, but as always, life kept getting in the way. I should have read this story sooner.
“He had written to me a month or so before he died. I’d ignored the letter the same way I’d ignored all the others.”
Cam Miller returns to his estranged father’s house after 23 years to clean it out. Cam doesn’t remember much about the farmhouse, though. Little by little, he begins to remember his childhood. Something has been waiting for him there. Something sinister. Something menacing.
“It’s you he wants.”
The atmosphere is dark and the dread is all too real. Andrew Cull gives the characters just enough depth to make you care about them. It will punch you right in the feels, while terrifying you. I read this one in the dark. I should have turned the lamp on. I couldn’t sleep for a few hours after reading this one.
Urban legends might not be urban legends after all. The ending will shock you. In the end, everything will be revealed. I can still picture the ending in my mind. It will send shivers down your spine.
