Dark Moon Rising is a good werewolf tale. The book is about Dr. James Wilcox who finds out that he has a brain tumor. The removal of the brain tumor will result in Dr. Wilcox losing his senses of taste and smell, and he will also suffer from a mood disorder for the rest of his life. There is one alternative solution to Dr. Wilcox’s predicament, which is Dr. Albert Stern, who has successfully performed sensory augmentation in primates. Dr. Wilcox agrees to let Dr. Stern operate, and the surgery is a success. The surgery heightens the rest of Dr. Wilcox’s senses. It turns out that the surgery involved a half dog half werewolf. Of course, there are side effects involving full moons.
I read this book off and on because I couldn’t fully get into it. In all honesty, it took me about a week to finish this book. I enjoyed the book, though the ending felt rushed. I felt like there should have been more to the ending.
